Late Wednesday night, reports surfaced police had been called to the Republic of Ireland team hotel after assistant manager Roy Keane was involved in an incident involving someone unaffiliated with the team. Given Keane's intense demeanor and reputation, there was plenty of speculation about what Keane might have done wrong.
Roy Keane calls police after incident at Ireland team hotel

There’s only one problem: he was the one who called the police.
The FAI was understandably upset with the way Keane was portrayed in the immediate aftermath of the news breaking and issued a statement supporting Keane.
"We wish to clarify that Roy Keane called the Gardai following the incident. The manager, Martin O'Neill, and the FAI are fully aware of the circumstances surrounding this event, and the assistant manager has their full support."
Police say there have been no arrests or complaints filed against the individual or individuals the police were called on, or Keane himself.
Ireland are in one of the toughest groups in Euro 2016 qualifying and face Scotland in a crucial match Friday.
