Schalke 04 vs. Chelsea: Lineups

Neither manager has sprung a surprise as Schalke host Chelsea.

There are no real surprises in the starting lineups of both Schalke 04 and Chelsea, as the sides prepare to face off in Gelsenkirchen on the Champions League's fifth matchday.

Schalke boss Roberto Di Matteo's only real omission of note is that of Max Meyer, with the talented youngster made to settle for a place on the bench. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Kevin-Prince Boateng and Marco Höger make up the attacking midfield trio instead.

As for José Mourinho's Chelsea, they're lining up exactly as expected, with Diego Costa leading the line. César Azpilicueta starts on the left of defence, with summer signing Filipe Luís named as a substitute.

Schalke 04 starting lineup (4-2-3-1): Ralf Fährmann; Dennis Aogo, Felipe Santana, Benedikt Höwedes, Atsuto Uchida; Jan Kirchhoff, Roman Neustädter; Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Kevin-Prince Boateng, Marco Höger; Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

Chelsea starting lineup (4-2-3-1): Thibaut Courtois; César Azpilicueta, Gary Cahill, John Terry, Branislav Ivanović; Nemanja Matić, Cesc Fàbregas; Eden Hazard, Oscar, Willian; Diego Costa.
