Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere will miss the midweek Champions League game against Anderlecht, Arsene Wenger has confirmed. The England midfielder "is sick and will not play" on Tuesday night. Wilshere missed Saturday's 3-0 win over Burnley but is expected to be fit for next weekend's game against Swansea.
Jack Wilshere to miss Anderlecht game
Arsenal’s midfielder should return next week.

Other than their long-term absentees -- Olivier Giroud, Mathieu Debuchy, Mesut Ozil and David Ospina -- Arsenal's only other injury concern ahead of the game is central defender Laurent Koscielny. The Frenchman hasn't played since early October and while no date has been set for his return, he may not return until after the next international break. Theo Walcott, however, continued his return to fitness with a cameo appearance against Burnley and has suffered no subsequent ill effects.
Arsenal go into the game looking for a win to strengthen their grip on second place in Group D and to keep up with Borussia Dortmund, who are at home to Galatasaray. Their last game against the Belgians nearly ended in disaster, until Kieran Gibbs and Lukas Podolski scored late to steal a thoroughly undeserved win in Belgium.
