Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers won't get to use Daniel Sturridge for 90 minutes in Tuesday's crucial UEFA Champions League match away to Real Madrid, but he'll be thrilled to have his star striker available at all. He's traveled with the Liverpool squad and could make his return from injury in the match if he's deemed fit enough to make the 18-man squad.

But will the striker play?

It’s entirely possible that Sturridge is just making the trip to watch the match or that Rodgers is playing mind games -- the Liverpool manager has yet to confirm whether or not Sturridge will be in the team -- but that he’s made the trip at all is an encouraging sign for the Reds.
Sturridge last appeared for Liverpool August 31, and has suffered a pair of injuries since. He injured his thigh while training with England, then hurt his calf just as he was nearing a return to Liverpool's first team. In his absence, Mario Balotelli has struggled up top, and he could probably use with either a strike partner or a rest.
