It’s been only two weeks since we last experienced Champions League football, but a few of these clubs have had plenty of time to...get sucker-punched? Come back to reality? Learn a lesson? Whatever you want to call it, some teams have had a rough time of it in domestic competition.
Champions League 2014 schedule, scores and results from Matchday 4
Liverpool’s visit to Real Madrid looks to be the highlight of Tuesday, while on Wednesday, we’ll be watching to see if Roma can come back from their horrible loss to Bayern Munich.

Dortmund is the best example, of course, currently on six straight losses in the Bundesliga, meaning they’re inside the relegation zone -- despite being perfect in Champions League play. Barcelona are on two straight defeats in La Liga, and Lionel Messi doesn’t look at all right. In Italy, both Juventus and Roma lost, while over in England, Manchester City may have beat rivals United, but they’re still not impressing. And no one has any real clue what’s going on with Liverpool.
