Orlando City unveil new kits for first MLS season

MLS will have its first purple primary kit.

Orlando City doesn’t begin their first MLS season for four months, but they have their home kit for their expansion year, and it’s a beauty. The team has decided to stick with their traditional purple, as expected, making them the first team in the league with a purple primary kit.

The shade of purpose is gorgeous, and the kit has very faint stripes across the front to keep things interesting. But where the kit really shines is with the accents. The white stripes shine and the thin gold trim around the neck is fantastic. The purple crest on a purple kit even comes off well thanks to the outline. It also has a Orlando City in gold across the back and “This is Orlando” on the necktape for the supporters who often chant that.

Orlando Health was the club’s kit sponsor when the team played in USL PRO and OCSC announced nearly a year ago that the healthcare company would continue to be the team’s kit sponsor in MLS so seeing their name across the front is no surprise. It is a white logo, which fits the kit well.

Orlando have not yet revealed their secondary kit, which is no surprise. That will likely be unveiled in the weeks before the 2015 season starts, as many teams in MLS do. In USL PRO, Orlando used white and red as their secondary kit colors and it is expected that they will use one of those two again for 2015.
