The UEFA Champions League’s group of death isn’t being particularly kind to Manchester City or CSKA Moscow. Even though AS Roma just took a beating from Bayern Munich and might take another, they’re still in a position where they’re both in big need of a result on Wednesday (2:45 p.m. ET, FOX Sports 2).

Because Roma drew City and beat CSKA, they’re very much in control of their own destiny, even though Bayern’s taking them to the woodshed. City and CSKA both have to do better than their draw in their last encounter to feel like they have a good chance of advancing.
CSKA are without Rasmus Elm and Kirill Panchenko for this match, while City have a number of doubts. None of Frank Lampard, David Silva, Eliaquim Mangala or Aleksandar Kolarov are expected to start the game.
