Francesco Totti doesn’t start for Roma against Bayern Munich

Roma have decided to change things up from the squad that fell 7-1 to Bayern last time out.

Last time out, Bayern Munich absolutely destroyed Roma, scoring seven goals to the hosts’ one. Now in Munich, Rudi Garcia has a chance to restore his team’s pride -- and still keep them on the path to qualifying for the knockout rounds.

Instead, the Roma manager has elected to rotate his squad. After his side were thoroughly dominated by Napoli last weekend, resulting in slipping behind Juventus in the title race, Garcia looks to be keeping his word and prioritizing domestic competition. That means Francesco Totti, who looked rather tired at the weekend, is dropped from the starting lineup.

Bayern will miss Arjen Robben, who is ill -- but considering the talent in their squad and the depth at Pep Guardiola’s disposal, “miss” is a relative term in this case.

Bayern Munich (3-4-2-1): Neuer; Benatia, Boateng, Rafinha; Lahm, Alonso, Alaba, Bernat; Ribery, Götze; Lewandowski.

AS Roma (4-3-3): Skorupski; Torosidis, Manolas, Mapou, Cholevas; Keita, De Rossi, Nainggolan; Florenzi, Destro, Iturbe
