Since becoming one of the world’s richest clubs and establishing themselves as a regular fixture in the Champions League, it hasn’t been smooth sailing for Manchester City. They’ve experienced some embarrassing exits, and they could go out in the group stage again if they don’t grab a good result away to AS Roma (2:45 p.m. ET, FOX Sports 1).

Can the Citizens avoid another group stage embarrassment?
While City sit bottom of the group right now, they can go through with any draw with a 2-2 or higher score, assuming CSKA Moscow can’t get a result against Bayern Munich. A 0-0 or 1-1 draw would see Roma advance to the round of 16, again, assuming CSKA can’t beat or draw Bayern. If the Russians do pull an upset, things get immensely more complicated.
Roma are a tad thin at fullback, with Leandro Castan out for the year and Vasilis Torosidis a doubt. City’s injury problems are much worse -- they’re missing Sergio Aguero for sure, while a number of key players are carrying knocks. Vincent Kompany, David Silva and Stevan Jovetic will probably be made available because of the importance of the game, but none is 100 percent.
Unfortunately for American viewers, this is not one of the games that was sublicensed to ESPN, so it can only be seen on FOX services. If you are a TV subscriber to FOX Sports 1, you can catch the game for free on FOX Sports Go. If that’s not an option for you, there’s also FOX Soccer 2 Go, a paid service that requires no TV subscription.
The game is on Sky Go in the UK, while Sportsnet World Now has it in Canada. For listings from more countries, check out Live Soccer TV.
