The final matchday of the Europa League group stage has concluded, and there was plenty on the line for the competition’s favorites on Thursday. A small handful of clubs that are capable of winning the competition -- and therefore, clinching a Champions League place -- had to wait until the last day to lock up their group stage places.
UEFA Europa League: Matchday 6 schedule and scores
Some top teams still have a lot to play for.

Group A was the biggest example of this, but Borussia Mönchengladbach and Villarreal, who are fighting for top four spots in their domestic leagues, were able to hold off FC Zürich. Gladbach will be seeded for the knockout stage draw, while Villarreal will be unseeded after finishing second
Defending champions Sevilla, German top-four contenders Wolfsburg, Italian contenders Napoli and perpetual SPL leaders Celtic all locked up their places in the last 32, though Celtic weren’t exactly impressive on the last day. Tottenham Hotspur, Everton, Dynamo Kiev, Dinamo Moscow and Fiorentina had already clinched their spots, though Spurs lost to Besiktas and will now be unseeded.
