USMNT, Mexico learn where they’re playing in 2015 Gold Cup

Start making your travel plans to see your favorite team in the Gold Cup this summer.

Dennis Wierzbicki-USA TODAY Sports

Venues for the group stage of the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup have been announced and dates finalized, meaning fans can start making their summer travel plans.

The United States will play on the opening day at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas on July 7. They then play at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., on July 10 and Sporting Park in Kansas City on July 13. Mexico plays July 9 at Soldier Field in Chicago, July 12 at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., and July 15 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.

Groups haven't been set for the tournament, so the top-seeded teams just know the venues of their group stage games, not yet their opponents. The draw will be made after Honduras and French Guyana finish their playoff for the final spot in the Gold Cup.

This will also be the first time in the tournament's history that games will be played in Canada. BMO Field in Toronto will host a pair of games from Costa Rica's Group B on July 14.

CONCACAF have announced the knockout stage venues, but not which games will be played where. At some point in the next month or two, they’ll finalize the schedule and announce which venue will hold the final. All knockout-stage games will take place at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore and MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Since the tournament started being played consistently in the United States, the final has been held in Los Angeles, Chicago, or at old Giants Stadium across the street from where MetLife Stadium sits now.
