Joe Hart has enjoyed a bit of a resurgence in form at Manchester City this season, and it's earned him a new contract and a decent raise in pay. On Friday, City announced that Hart has signed a new five-year contract that runs through the end of the 2018-19 season.

The Guardian is reporting that Hart will make £110k per week, which isn’t much compared to City stars Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero, but it’s not bad for a goalkeeper. He’ll earn a bit less than Petr Cech, but more than Hugo Lloris. The other big clubs’ goalkeepers are a bit younger, and this should provide a decent baseline for their future salaries.
Hart was so poor at points over the last couple of seasons that England fans wondered whether or not he should be dropped for then-Celtic, now-Southampton keeper Fraser Forster or Under-21 starter Jack Butland. City brought in some insurance against Hart's dipping form this summer, signing Willy Caballero, one of La Liga's top keepers.
But he's been much better this year, shutting out the likes of Roma, Everton and Manchester United. His performance was also the biggest reason City stayed alive until the end of a 1-0 loss away to Bayern Munich. Because of this uptick in form (and the lack of obvious reasonably priced upgrades), City are going to stick with Hart a bit longer.
