In recent years these two teams have been an FA Cup mainstay, with one of the teams appearing in the final over the last five years. Chelsea won all three of their appearances while City won one and lost last season agains Wigan Athletic. The two teams met in one of last year’s semifinals with City coming out on top 2-1. It was the fourth they they’d met in the FA Cup.
Chelsea won the last league meeting between the two sides 1-0 in early February.
