Getafe vs. Real Madrid: Final score 0-3, Los Blancos dispatch the Azulones

Real Madrid remained even on points with Barcelona and Atlético Madrid after a solid victory over Getafe.

Real Madrid were effective and efficient on Sunday as they kept pace with Barcelona and Atlético Madrid in the title race thanks to a 3-0 win at Getafe. Jesé scored in the fifth minute to give Los Blancos the lead and they never looked back as Karim Benzema and Luka Modrić added goals in the win.

Jesé continued to make the most of his opportunities, giving Real Madrid a lead within the opening five minutes. Gareth Bale found Jesé with a short pass and the young striker did the rest dancing through the Getafe defense, beating the last defender and firing a shot past Miguel Moyá to make it 1-0.

Madrid extended their lead in the 27th minute on the counter attack after a decent run of play by Getafe. Ángel Di Maria’s long ball into the Getafe box was chested down by Karim Benzema as the striker cooly settled the ball and placed his hit underneath Moyá, doubling the lead to 2-0.

Real Madrid seemed content to coast in the early part of the second half, showing an obvious drop in intensity. It got so bad that Sergio Ramos was walking around, yelling at teammates and clapping trying to drive up the energy. Since they didn't listen, he did the next best thing and committed a stupid foul.

Luckily for Ramos, he avoided a card and all was forgotten with Pedro León's ambitious free kick effort from 35+ yards left the Earth's atmosphere and is still on its way to the moon.

Luka Modrić apparently listened though and in the 66th minute he beat Moyá with a bouncing shot from 20-yards out to seal the deal for Madrid and make it 3-0.
