AC Milan vs. Atlético Madrid: Lineups

Clarence Seedorf starts Andrea Poli in AC Milan’s only real selection surprise, while there are no shocks in Diego Simeone’s Atléti lineup.

Claudio Villa

The only real selection surprise in the first leg of AC Milan and Atlético Madrid's round of 16 Champions League clash is Andrea Poli making the rossoneri's starting 11 over Ignazio Abate.

Elsewhere, Urby Emanuelson has been selected over Kévin Constant at left-back, while Daniele Bonera has been given the nod alongside Adil Rami at centre-back. Adel Taarabt makes his first Champions League appearance.

There aren't any real shocks in the Atléti lineup, though it's worth noting that Raúl Garcia has been given the nod over David Villa to start alongside Diego Costa.

AC Milan starting lineup (4-2-3-1): Christian Abbiati; Urby Emanuelson, Daniele Bonera, Adil Rami, Mattia De Sciglio; Nigel de Jong, Michael Essien; Adel Taarabt, Kaká, Andrea Poli; Mario Balotelli.

Atlético Madrid starting lineup (4-4-2): Thibaut Courtois; Emiliano Insúa, Diego Godín, Miranda, Juanfran; Koke, Arda Turan, Mario Suárez, Gabi; Diego Costa, Raúl Garcia.
