For the second time in a week Manchester City were unable to score a goal, this time in a scoreless draw against Norwich City. City wasted the few chances they had and if not for some poor finishing from the Canaries, it could have been much worse for Manuel Pellegrini's side.

With a chance to take over first place in the league, Manchester City were lifeless on the attack and settled for a point against Norwich.

City took control of the match early, in terms of possession, but Norwich sat back and absorbed pressure, doing of good job of keeping the visitors stuck in the midfield. Norwich were able to generate a couple dangerous moments on the counter attack including a chance for Nathan Redmond in the 16th minute after a lovely through ball found him behind the defense on the right side of the box. Redmond's effort was poor as he skied the ball well wide and over the goal.
Less than two minutes later Norwich put the ball in the back of the net but the linesman wasted no time raising his flag and correctly disallowing the goal on a offside call.
City began to wake up late in the first half and nearly took the lead in the 36th minute when Alvaro Negredo put a header off the crossbar. Martin Demichelis made a nice move at the near post to head on a corner kick, finding Negredo at the far post, but the striker was just slightly off target with his shot.
The entire second half was summed up a single moment in the 77th minute when Manuel Pellegrini -- the match scoreless and his team with a chance to go first -- decided to take off forward Alvaro Negredo and replace him with defender Aleksander Kolarov.
Seriously, that’s it. City had chances, especially in the final ten minutes when they apparently realized the game was nearly over and they hadn’t scored yet. If not for a late miss by Ricky van Wolfswinkel, it could have ended in City’s second straight loss.
