Tottenham Hotspur vs. Arsenal: Preview and TV schedule

The latest edition of the North London derby takes place at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

Clive Mason

The ever-eventful Tottenham Hotspur will look to improve on their 4-0 drubbing away to Chelsea last weekend against Arsenal, their fiercest rivals, on Sunday. They welcome Arsenal to White Hart Lane as North London hostilities are resumed and with Spurs manager Tim Sherwood coming under increasing fire.

Spurs are currently sitting fifth in the table, six points adrift of third-placed Arsenal (albeit with the Gunners having a game in hand). Arsène Wenger's outfit have really struggled with injuries since the turn of the year, but could close the seven-point gap on league leaders Chelsea with a victory. As it stands, they're level on points with Liverpool in second place.

For the trip to White Hart Lane, they're notably still without Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere and the newly-injured Mesut Özil (though with the German having struggled for form, perhaps playing Tomáš Rosický instead is no bad thing). Full-back Kieran Gibbs is doubtful. For Spurs, centre-backs Vlad Chiricheș and Michael Dawson are the biggest absentees, while Mousa Dembélé and Kyle Walker face fitness tests.

Tottenham Hotspur injuries and suspensions

Out: Étienne Capoue (ankle), Vlad Chiricheș (back), Michael Dawson (hamstring), Erik Lamela (thigh). In doubt: Mousa Dembélé (hamstring), Kyle Walker (pelvis).

Arsenal injuries and suspensions

Out: Abou Diaby (knee), Theo Walcott (knee), Aaron Ramsey (thigh), Jack Wilshere (foot), Mesut Özil (hamstring). In doubt: Kieran Gibbs (calf).

Projected lineups

Tottenham Hotspur: Danny Rose, Jan Vertonghen, Younes Kaboul, Kyle Naughton; Mousa Dembélé, Sandro, Paulinho, Aaron Lennon; Roberto Soldado, Emmanuel Adebayor.

Arsenal: Wojciech Szczęsny; Thomas Vermaelen, Laurent Koscielny, Per Mertesacker, Bacary Sagna; Mathieu Flamini, Mikel Arteta; Lukas Podolski, Tomáš Rosický, Santi Cazorla; Olivier Giroud.
