It doesn't look like Hull City will become the Hull Tigers. The FA Membership Committee has voted to recommend that the FA Council reject the club's request to change its name, which may also leave Hull in search of a new owner.
FA likely to stop proposed Hull City name change
RIP Hull Tigers.

The club applied for a name change earlier in the year, hoping to add the team’s nickname to their official name, but it didn’t go over too well with supporters. Most valued the history of Hull City AFC, even if they too refer to the club as the Tigers sometimes.
Still, owner Assem Allam stood by the club’s application to change the name and threatened to sell if the FA would not allow it.
Now, the Membership Committee has done just that, and the FA Council is expected to do the same.
All eyes are on Allam now. Unfortunately, that means they are off this man.
And we all lose.
