André Villas-Boas to take over as Zenit St. Petersburg head coach
André Villas-Boas will look to rebuild his reputation in Russia. Zenit announced they have chosen him to replace Luciano Spalletti.

In a statement on their website, Zenit announced that Villas-Boas would be presented Thursday after signing a contract that will take him through the next two seasons.
The Russian club parted with Spalletti earlier this month after ceding the league lead to Lokomotiv Moscow. Zenit is now three points off the top spot in the standings after suffering another defeat under caretaker boss Sergei Semak.
However, with what is almost certainly the most talented squad in Russia, Zenit are very much in the running to reclaim the title. It wouldn’t be too surprising for Villas-Boas to waltz in and sweep up the league in his very first season and start to rebuild the excellent reputation he earned while hoovering up trophies at Porto.
