NYCFC unveils crest

NYCFC debuted their crest, even if they don’t play their first match for 12 months.

NYCFC will enter MLS in 2015 as the league’s 20th team and they now have the crest that they will bring with them.

The crest includes an interlocking NYC in a circle crest, with New York City Football Club written around it. The colors are light blue, navy blue and white, which pays homage to Manchester City and the New York Yankees’, the club’s owners. There is also a thin orange outline, which along with navy and white, is one of the colors on the New York City flag.

NYCFC narrowed their choices to two crest and then left things to a fan vote to decide which one would become the club logo. The fans went online, voted and this is the one that came out as the winner.

Now NYCFC has an owner, a manager, a name and a crest. Next up to sort out: players, kits and a stadium.
