Hopefully El Clásico is better than “El Rap de El Clásico”

There’s proper hype for a big soccer match and then there’s this rap video.

El Clásico is as much about the actual game as the hype and marketing surrounding the game. The various entities and business that have an interest in the game generating revenue will often do various amusing things to try and build more hullabaloo.

Enter LigaBBVA who posted this “gem” on their YouTube channel this week as part of the build-up to Sunday’s big match. Unfortunately I’m not sure it accomplishes the intended goal and instead causes the following series of events to transpire should one watch the video.

Step 1: Watch the video

Step 2: Shove icepicks in your ears.

Step 3: Lose all desire to watch the Clásico.

Totally counter-productive if you ask me, but I’m sure there are people out there who enjoy this big of musical, umm, creativity. For the rest of us, it’s just bad and probably best avoided in order to protect the health of our precious hearing.
