Serie A, Round 30 preview: The days change, the feelings stay the same

Ain’t no rest for the wicked...less than 48 hours after Juventus beat Catania and Lazio drew with Milan, Serie A is back again. But if you don’t have time in your busy schedule to watch eight matches simultaneously, don’t worry - we’re pretty sure the games don’t actually need to be viewed.

*all matches at 8:45 p.m. local, 3:45 p.m. ET

Tuesday, March 25

AS Roma vs. Torino

Stadio Olimpico, Turin
This game might be fun if both sides both wore their red shirts and no one told the players which Olimpico the match was in. Otherwise, it’ll simply be a routine win for Roma over a granata side that’s faded fast. And no, a win over Livorno does not mean Torino are back in form.

Wednesday, March 26

Atalanta vs. Livorno

Atleti Azzurri d’Italia, Bergamo
Somehow, Atalanta have quietly won four in a row - well, quietly until they beat Inter on Sunday, that is. Surely it will be Livorno’s fight for their lives that stops la dea.

Cagliari vs. Hellas Verona

Stadio Sant’Elia, Cagliari
Verona haven’t scored in their last four matches, Cagliari in their last two. Look for all the frustration to seep out as this one ends in a 4-3 victory with two dismissals.

Catania vs. Napoli

Stadio Angelo Massimino, Catania
An exhausted Napoli travel to Sicily, hoping for a nice, restful match...except Catania are pretty much looking to beat up on any side that ventures into their path. The elefanti may not win, but at least they’ll trample a few players on their way down to B. And with Napoli’s stretched squad, that might almost be worse.

Chievo Verona vs. Bologna

The Bentegodi, Verona
With 47 goals between them, and three goals from their last four matches, we can safely assume that this relegation six-pointer is going to be the highlight of Round 30.

Fiorentina vs. AC Milan

Stadio Artemio Franchi, Florence
Apparently Milan "stopped their recent rot" after allowing just one goal from Lazio (unless you count the one Abdoulay Konko put in the back of his own net) so definitely look for the rossoneri to return from Florence with all three points.

Genoa vs. Lazio

The Marassi, Genoa
Look for an engaging technical battle from two rather conservative coaches. Alternatively, look for another match.

Juventus vs. Parma

Juventus Stadium, Turin
If you tie a piece of buttered toast to the back of a cat, does the cat land on its feet or does the toast land butter-side down? We’re going to assume Juve is the cat, emerging unscathed from this match. Sorry, Parma.

Sassuolo vs. Sampdoria

Città del Tricolore, Reggio Emilia
Sampdoria have learned their lesson: don't make Siniša Mihajlović angry. Whatever the coach said after their 3-0 defeat to Atalanta must've had some effect, because Sampdoria went on to a 5-0 win over Verona. Similar results may occur here, as it's impossible to imagine Eusebio Di Francesco getting so fired up over lost-cause Sassuolo's loss to Udinese.

Thursday, March 27

Inter Milan vs. Udinese

San Siro, Milan
It’s very, very important that Inter win on Thursday to keep their dream of Europa League play alive. But with Udinese just ten points above the drop and only 13 points back of a European position, the zebrette have all to play for.
