Arsenal vs. Manchester City: Preview and TV schedule

The weekend’s marquee fixture sees Arsenal host Manchester City in Saturday’s late kickoff.

Clive Brunskill

Manchester City have hit their stride at the perfect time, with Manuel Pellegrini's side having won their last four Premier League games on the bounce. They're currently down in third place, but should they win their two games in hand, they'd move three points clear at the top.

That's unless Arsenal throw a spanner in the works when the sides meet at the Emirates in Saturday's late kickoff. The Gunners have all but fallen out of the title race, but still have to make sure they hold onto the final Champions League place -- especially with Everton gaining momentum down in fifth.

Unfortunately, Arsenal's record against the big teams isn't particularly good. In fact, it's terrible. They were thrashed by provisional league leaders Chelsea in an embarrassing 6-0 last weekend, and still looked shocked when they threw away a couple of points to Swansea in midweek. They're also not helped by their incredibly lengthy injury list, with at least five first team players missing for Saturday's game.

City, in contrast, only have three players on the sidelines, though one of those is star striker and the Premier League’s fourth-top scorer, Sergio Agüero.

Arsenal injuries and suspensions

Out: Abou Diaby (knee), Ryo Miyaichi (hamstring), Theo Walcott (knee), Jack Wilshere (foot), Mesut Özil (hamstring), Aaron Ramsey (thigh), Laurent Koscielny (calf), Nacho Monreal (foot). In doubt: None.
