Thibaut Courtois would not play if Atlético Madrid draws Chelsea
Should the two teams meet in the Champions League semifinal, the on-loan goalkeeper would not be available.

The goalkeeper is on-loan from Chelsea and according to the terms of the deal, Atléti would be forced to pay a large chunk of money to the Blues in order for Courtois to be able to play. Some reports have the amount as high as €3 million per match, which is more money than the club can afford, according to team president Enrique Cerezo.
Not having their first choice goalkeeper would be a huge blow for Atléti, especially considering that backup Dani Aranzubia has failed to impress when he’s been called upon. In Aranzubia’s last appearance, he was responsible for both of Almeria’s goals in a 2-0 loss, along with being shown a straight red card.
This is Courtois’ third season at Atlético Madrid, and he’s been a huge part of their tremendously successful season. Los Colchoneros are currently leading La Liga with just five rounds left.
