Chelsea and Liverpool got help on Wednesday with a draw by Manchester City, while Everton’s loss puts Arsenal in position to finish fourth.
Palace stun Everton at Goodison Park

Chris BrunskillThe Palace attacks were not halted by the halftime whistle, however, and Pulis’ men continued to threaten after halftime, immediately having a penalty shout through Joel Ward before Joe Ledley forced Tim Howard into a save. And just a couple of minutes later, Everton looked doomed -- terrible marking from a corner allowed Scott Dann to nod in from close range and leave the Toffees’ Champions League hopes in peril.
On an increasingly-rare attack, Puncheon showed more skill to help tee up Cameron Jerome, who held off the attention of the Everton defense to curl an effort into the bottom corner and leave the hosts facinga calamitous defeat.

Michael ReganIt looked as though Sunderland were making a bid for Premier League survival. City got off to a great start, scoring before two minutes were even up. Sergio Agüero picked up the ball in midfield, sending it out wide to the right. Álvaro Negredo wisely laid off to allow Fernandinho to pick up, completely throwing off the Sunderland defense. Fernandinho turned, catching Vito Mannone out of position as he fired past the near post.

Jarvis would go on to score, however, and his header sparked the game to life in the 40th minute. The goal was set up by an excellent run into the box by Antonio Nocerino, which Kim Källstrom failed to track. Nocerino took a shot from a narrow angle that was saved, but Laurent Koscielny’s clearance afterward deflected back towards the top of the six-yard box. Jarvis was in the perfect spot and headed it into the empty net.
