Ronaldo suffered a minor left knee injury back in Madrid's first leg match against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League quarterfinals. During his recovery, the Portuguese striker tweaked his thigh muscle, also in his left leg. He hasn't played since, though Madrid have managed to survive without him, defeating Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final to claim their first trophy of the season.
According to Madrid’s official website, Ronaldo “trained intensely on his own, with and without the ball.”
The man who scored the winning goal against Barca, Gareth Bale, missed training on Monday after coming down with the flu. If you’ve ever dealt with the flu before, you know how badly it can affect you, and Bale’s availability for Wendesday is in doubt.
The club offered no statement about Bale’s status or when they expected him to return to action.
