Manchester City has received some good news: David Silva appears set to return to action from an ankle injury in just a couple weeks. According to the Guardian, the injury he sustained in City's 3-1 win over West Bromwich Albion on Monday isn't quite as bad as initially feared, meaning Silva could return for the final two games of the season against Aston Villa and West Ham.
The Spanish playmaker has been one of his side's regulars this season, starting 24 Premier League games and chipping in seven goals. It was initially feared that Silva's ankle problem was a recurrence of a long-standing issue that kept him from playing in the recent draw with Sunderland. Fortunately, this most recent knock shouldn't keep him out for too long.
Even so, City is five points adrift of league leaders Liverpool with three games to play. This good news may be too little and too late to help them to a title.
