La Liga, Round 32 review: No changes at the top, relegation battle stays tight

The title race was unchanged again this round, while the relegation battle continues to be stressful for everyone involved.

The title race remain unchanged for the second week in a row as all three contenders won their matches. Atlético Madrid retains the top spot thanks to their 1-0 win over Villarreal, and Barcelona are still second after defeating last placed Real Betis 3-1. Real Madrid's win over Real Sociedad keeps them three points back in third.

Atheltic Bilbao did what they needed to do on Monday, defeating Levante 2-1. It keeps Athletic in fourth, six points clear of Sevilla. The two clubs meet in two weeks in a match that could decide who claims the final Champions League spot for next season.

Rayo Vallecano continued their improbably late season rise with yet another victory, this time over Celta Vigo. Since a 1-0 loss to Sevilla on February 23rd, Rayo have won five matches, draw one, and suffered just one loss to Real Madrid. They've moved from the drop zone all the way up to 13th, five points clear of the relegation places.

Almeria and Betis remain stuck in the relegation zone, while Getafe slipped down to 18th with their loss against Elche. Real Valladolid were able to move to safety, for now, thanks to their draw against Valencia.
