Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger could miss Satruday’s DFB Pokal Final after leaving the club’s league season finale against Stuttgart. Schweinsteiger limped off after just 37 minutes, and has been diagnosed with a patella injury in his left knee. He’s scheduled to undergo an MRI scan to determine the extent of the damage.

The German midfielder is doubtful for this weekend’s match against Dortmund with a left knee injury.

According to reports, there is inflammation in the midfielder’s knee, and he’ll train apart from the team for the next couple days.
Schweinsteiger played in 22 league matches for Bayern this season, missing part of the season after undergoing two ankle surgeries last year.
While he was named Germany’s 30-man provisional World Cup roster, the midfielder will now likely face a race to get fit ahead of training camp next week. Even if he’s not quite ready when camp opens, there’s still time for Schweinsteiger to get healthy, as German head coach Joachim Löw has until June 2nd to whittle his roster down to 23 players.
