Bernd Schuster's time at Málaga has lasted just one season after the German head coach announced Thursday that the club has decided to let him go. There had been a great deal of speculation surrounding Schuster after the Anchovies struggled most of the season, but were able to avoid relegation.
Bernd Schuster out as Málaga head coach after just one season
Málaga took advantage of a clause in their managers five-year contract to part ways with Schuster after just one unsuccessful season.

Schuster confirmed the rumors about his future during his pre-match press conference, explaining that the club had told him on Wednesday that he would not be returning to the job next season
”Yesterday they told me that I wouldn’t be continuing, but it wasn’t a great surprise because I had a feeling that was what would happen.
“I am leaving very happy because we have done our work and everything is fine. I will look for another job.”
Schuster also revealed that there was a clause in the five-year deal he signed last summer that allowed for either side to end the deal. With one match left to play, Málaga sit in 13th with 11 wins, nine draws, and 17 losses.
He will coach the club in Friday's season finale against Levante.
