Diego Costa injury: Striker forced off after less than 15 minutes with a hamstring injury

The Atlético Madrid striker pulled up, and left the match, after apparently re-aggravating a hamstring injury.

Diego Costa's hamstring was supposedly healed, but after less than 15 minutes of Atlético Madrid's title decider against Barcelona, the striker was forced out after pulling up during a run. The star striker left the pitch and immediately went to the bench in tears, putting a towel over his head.

With only a week left until the Champions League final, it seems extremely likely that Atléti's leading scorer will not be able to play a part. It's a massive blow for Diego Simeone and his team, and it could also affect Spain later this summer in the World Cup if Costa's injury is more serious.

Costa will now attempt to recover for next Saturday, but considering this hamstring injury has been an ongoing problem for him over the past few weeks, the odds are not good for him. If Costa cannot play, the pressure will land on the shoulders of David Villa and Adrián to lead the Colchoneros attack.
