Tottenham Hotspur have announced their new manager will be Mauricio Pochettino, who has signed a five-year deal at White Hart Lane. The position had been vacant since Tim Sherwood was released earlier this month, having led Spurs to sixth place in the Premier League.

The Argentine was given the unenviable task of following in the footsteps of the popular Nigel Adkins, though steered the Saints to 14th place after his first half-season, followed up by an impressive 8th this time around.
His brand of aggressive pressing and high-tempo attacking has seen him become regarded as one of the most promising young coaches around at present, and Spurs will no doubt be hoping the 42-year-old will at White Hart Lane for a long time to come. As for Southampton, who could see a string of first-team players following Pochettino out of the door this summer, the future is rather uncertain.
