Queens Park Rangers lose Lotto, get Nike kits for Premier League campaign

Following their promotion to the Premier League on (what was nearly) the last last kick of the game off of Bobby Zamora’s foot at Wembley against Derby County, Queens Park Rangers are getting three new kits for the upcoming season. It took just one year in the Championship for QPR to go back up, marking a return to the top flight for a number of Premier League regulars.

From the 2008/09 season until the end of the 2013/14 campaign, Queens Park Rangers had worn their famous hoops in kits made by Lotto. From next season and for the next five years, Rangers will wear the Swoosh on their chests, on their shorts, and on their socks.

Nike’s first effort for the London side is a predictably clean and classy effort that is very much in line with both QPR’s history and Nike’s other kits this season.

The home kit features narrow blue hoops on a white background with white shorts and white socks. The home shirt features a crew neck with white collar and white cuffs while the hem of the shirt ends on blue. The Air Asia sponsor on the front is in red, as are the Premier League-standard numbers.

The away shirt on the other hand features vertical stripes in alternating red and black with a v-neck collar. The shirt is paired with black shorts and black socks.

The third kit is all white, with a stark white shirt, shorts, and socks.

Speaking about the new set of kits, Marc van Pappelendam, the VP/GM Nike UK & Ireland, said:

“Queens Park Rangers’ recent promotion to the Premier League is a sign of exciting things to come. The club has such a rich history and we look forward to developing a strong partnership into the future.”

QPR CEO, Philip Beard, added:

“We’re proud not only to be making our return to the Premier League, but also to be associated with the leading global brand in football. We look forward to enjoying a long and successful partnership with Nike.”

The kits were unveiled at NIke’s Phenomenal House at the Sorting Office in London where visitors can also see the special 20th anniversary edition Arsenal kit.
