From 2000 to 2013, AS Roma wore Kappa kits before moving to unbranded strips for the 2013/14 season. The club announced their move to Nike back in March of 2013 but despite that, it took more than a year for Nike and Roma to unveil their first home kit with a swoosh.

The new shirt features the traditional Roma red throughout the body with a slightly darker red running down the shirt to create a very subtle pinstripe effect. The shirt features a polo collar in the same red color with yellow underneath that shows off the club’s famous colors when flipped up. The sleeves feature the same yellow color in wide bands at the cuff. On the inside of the collar, at the back, is a pennant tab that reads “La Roma Non Si Discute Si Ama” (Roma is loved without question) on a yellow background.
The shirt is paired with all-white shorts. The club’s traditional black socks are gone with Nike using Roma Red instead. The socks feature yellow accents for the Nike Swoosh and club name while the chevrons up the back echo the tonal pinstripe color of the shirt.
Speaking about the new kit, Dermott Cleary, VP / GM of Nike Football, said:
“Roma is a club with great football history and traditions, with its sights set firmly on the future. Today’s presentation of the new kit marks the start of an exciting new partnership for Nike and AS Roma.”
James Pallotta, President of AS Roma, added:
“The launch of the new home kit is a great way to officially announce our partnership with Nike. The jersey exemplifies our goal of combining tradition with innovation. We look forward to showing this kit to the world and I am confident that our fans will be proud of this jersey.”
