It has been almost a year-and-a-half since Warrior Football released their first boot for the sport. The Skreamer, debuting on the feet of Vincent Kompany and Craig Bellamy before picking up the likes of Marouane Fellaini, Jonas Gutierrez, and Tim Cahill, among others. In its relatively young life, the boot has certainly entered football with a splash. Warrior have just unveiled the second generation of the boot with it enjoying a very successful debut on the pitch.
Warrior unveil Skreamer II but hold off on debut in Manchester City win over Aston Villa
The new boot features a number of the technologies that made their debut with the first Skreamer boot, evolving them for the new generation. The upper, a microfiber called S-Lite is comprised of a redesigned, micro-injected Arrowhead Vamp for a more comprehensive strike zone and improved touch on the ball.
The heel features “Murderhole” cutouts to help the player put the boot on without trouble while the Heelshield and Thorax Exoskeleton aim to provide protection for the player. The interior of the boot features a stitchless construction with an insole that Warrior say “stimulates blood circulation and keeps you performing at your peak.”
Speaking about the Skreamer II, Vincent Kompany said:
“When I tried on the new Skreamer, I immediately noticed that they are more flexible and feel lighter, meaning I can generate extra power but in lighter boots. They are also incredibly comfortable, the best fit I’ve had from a football boot.”
The boot was supposed to be handed its debut in Manchester City's 4-0 win against Aston Villa at the Etihad but that didn't happen. The win means that City essentially need only one point to seal their second Premier League title. While Liverpool are not mathematically out of the race just yet, they need to hope that City lose or draw in their match against West Ham and beat Newcastle United (by 14 goals if City manage the draw, less if they lose).
Expect to see them on the pitch in final match day action this Sunday.
