Teacher accused of stealing World Cup stickers from children

There are some lines that you do not cross. This is one of them.

Paolo Bruno

It must be tempting. There you are, teaching a room full of kids, and you see a couple at the back comparing their World Cup stickers. Not during the lesson, folks! So you go over, you take them away, and you stick them in your desk. Discipline restored.

Then, later on, you just happen to notice that in amongst the stickers are a couple that you don't have. There's that Brazil shiny, and there's Wayne Rooney, and there's Falcao, and empty sticker spaces are an affront to the order of things and you could just stick them in ...

... well, it all got too much for one teacher in the Colombian city of Bucaramanga, according to local newspaper El Espectador. Having removed the stickers from his pupils, arguing that “a commercial market was being created that was distracting students from their academic work in the institution,” he was then spotted sticking the confiscated stickers into his own album. The mother of one student spoke to local radio:

It’s no way to give an example to young ones, taking their stickers away for your own benefit

Quite. SB Nation calls upon the school authorities to do the right thing and take away all of his swapsies.
