It has been some 17 years since Bayern Munich last wore a blue-and-red vertical stripe kit, a look that has made more than a few appearances as the Bundesliga Champions' home motif in the last 45 years. For 2014/15, the stripes are back with a stylish return on Munich's home kit.
Bayern Munich bring back classic blue & red motif for 2014/15 home kit
The shirt is, once again, predominantly red with white accents but unlike previous seasons, it is far from all-red. This time around, there are three, wide blue stripes running down the body with two blue pinstripes bisecting the two wide red patches that house the club and adidas badges.

The design is reminiscent of kits worn by Bayern from 1993 to 1997, in 1990, and from 1969 to 1973, among others. The shirt is framed by white accents that outline the collar, make up the adidas shoulder stripes, and make up the sleeve cuffs.
The front of the shirt has space for the Club World Cup champions badge while the stripes continue onto the back. There, fans will find Bayern's motto of "Mia San Mia" (meaning "we are who we are" in English) and a white accent strip that runs across the shoulder blades. The shirt is paired with red shorts that feature blue piping at the hem, and white adidas stripes. The socks feature all three kit colors, moving from blue to red to white.
The goalkeeper also gets a new kit, this time going gray with a plate armor-inspired design. The home goalkeeper kit is all medium gray except for the top half of the shirt which features an almost mechanical scale design that begins at the center of the torso, making its way up to the neck and down the sleeves.
