Nike have never been afraid to do something different with their kits for perennial Scottish Premiership champions Celtic. From relatively extreme variations on the club’s famous green hoops to tonal designs, patterned tops, and kits inspired by those that the team wore against bitter rivals Rangers in the late 1800s. The away kit for the upcoming season is no different.
Celtic get tartan 2014/15 away kit from Nike

The new kit is predominantly dark green from shirt to socks but is the top that is real talking point. The new shirt features an intricate Celtic tartan design that is a direct reference to the club’s Scottish heritage and history. The pattern features yellow, green, and tonal intersecting stripes that run throughout the body. The most noticeable of these is the pair of yellow stripes that meets underneath Celtic’s famous crest. The yellow is also present around the inside of the color, peaking out around the edges to give the appearance of piping and is also on the sleeve cuffs for added effect. The inside of the collar features a green-and-white pennant tab that reads “A club like no other.”
The shirt is paired with dark green shorts with socks to match. The socks feature a thick dark green band at the top and a tonal chevron strip at the back, echoing Nike’s design language for the manufacturer’s other properties this season.
