Last season's Premier League promotion runners up, Derby County, are switching kit manufacturers as they gear up to fight for a top flight spot once again next season. The Rams missed out the big prize at the end of last season by the slimmest of margins as Queens Park Rangers' Bobby Zamora sent QPR up at the death.
Derby County dump Kappa for Umbro 2014/15 kits

After spending the 2007/08 to 2011/12 seasons with adidas, Derby County signed a deal with GLD Group in 2012. GLD Group is a supplier of Umbro and Kappa among a number of other brands with the initial agreement seeing the Rams dress in the latter’s gear. Two seasons after the initial deal was struck, the Rams will be moving to the double diamond, changing up to a revived Umbro brand for next season.
The move was confirmed by John Vicars, the CEO of Derby County Football Club, on Twitter. Vicars also went on to mention that the option to switch between gear manufacturers was always present as part of the GLD agreement:
@ACTaylor96 @R8eys For clarity the deal we did 2 years ago was with a company who own Kappa and Umbro so we always had the option to switch
— John Vicars (@johnrvicars) June 9, 2014 There's no word on when the new kits will be unveiled but according to the CEO, they will be on sale in mid-July, well ahead of the new season.
