Bayern Munich have announced that two of their most important first-team players, captain Philipp Lahm and Thomas Müller, have both signed two-year contract extensions. Lahm's deal is now due to expire in June 2018, and Müller's exactly a year later.
Philipp Lahm and Thomas Müller sign Bayern Munich extensions
Philipp Lahm and Thomas Müller have both signed contract extensions at Bayern Munich.

Chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge was quoted in an official statement as saying:
“Both Philipp Lahm and Thomas Müller are very important members of the FC Bayern squad. Both have stayed loyal to the club since the start of their careers and will continue to play an important role here in the future. We’re delighted both players have committed to Bayern Munich for the long term.”
That Lahm has signed an extension with the Bavarian club isn’t as surprising as the fact Müller has, given that the versatile attacker has been linked with a move to Manchester United of late. The Red Devils’ new boss Louis van Gaal gave Müller his Bayern debut, and reportedly was hoping to capitalise on their relationship by luring him to Old Trafford. With the new deal adding several million euros to Müller’s price tag, that now looks highly unlikely.
Both Lahm and Müller, who are currently in Brazil with the German national team, have been loyal servants of Bayern. Lahm first joined their youth squad back in 1995, with Müller following on five years later.
