Uruguay vs. Costa Rica, 2014 World Cup group stage: Start time, TV schedule and more
Uruguay will be expected to win comfortably when they play Costa Rica in their first games of the World Cup.

Uruguay might be up against it in their group, since they share it with both England and Italy, but the South Americans are actually the highest-ranked team in their group, and will be expected to turn over Costa Rica fairly comfortably.
Although Costa Rica have a decent team, certainly by their own standards, it would be a surprise if they finished anywhere other than last in a group with more illustrious opponents. All three of their rivals will be expecting to beat them, so they could have a huge say in how the group turns out if they can pick up some surprise points.
And Uruguay might be their best hope for a team to do that against. While they are a good side, they’ve had problems in qualification, and are reliant on their two strikers Edinson Cavani and Luis Suarez, the former of whom is out of form and the latter of whom is injured and may not be able to start or even get off the bench for the opening game.
