Landon Donovan keeps poking fun at himself in EA Sports commercial

Harry How

A big round of applause to whoever is “handling” Landon Donovan these days. While Donovan may come off a bit jilted in interviews, he’s at least willing to poke fun at himself in ads. The latest for EA Sports is just the latest example.

Clad in a bathrobe, Donovan goes through his morning routine -- rolling out of bed at 10:39 a.m. sharp -- before sitting down in front of his TV and leading the United States to a World Cup title. Because of course he does.

The most surprising bit from this commercial, though, is that Donovan apparently dips his toast in coffee? Is that real? Is that a thing normal people do? Plus it’s white bread. That’s crazy, right?
