Things are beginning to look even worse for Portugal and Cristiano Ronaldo. Not only are they facing an uphill battle to qualify, but they might be about to lose their best player. The Real Madrid superstar limped out of training for his country early with an ice-pack clutched to his knee.
Cristiano Ronaldo injury: Portugal star leaves training early
Cristiano Ronaldo left Portugal’s training early with an ice pack on his knee, fuelling rumours that he could be set to miss the rest of the World Cup.

Portugal were training in front of the media and 9,000 fans, and Ronaldo was seen to leave early with the physio. There was speculation that the star forward would not be fit for the World Cup, and two days after Portugal's disastrous 4-0 loss to Germany, it looks like it may well be true.
Rumours are flying around about Ronaldo’s fitness and injury status, but so far there has been no official confirmation. With Portugal already staring down the barrel of a group stage exit, their hopes will take an almost fatal blow if they will have to continue without their talismanic player, on whom the hopes of the nation were almost entirely pinned.
