Borussia Dortmund have signed Ciro Immobile from Torino, giving them a much-needed replacement for Robert Lewandowski. The Italian had been linked to BVB for weeks and on Monday, the deal was completed.
Ciro Immobile completes transfer to Borussia Dortmund
Borussia Dortmund have tapped Serie A’s leading scorer to replace Robert Lewandowski.

Immobile scored 22 goals last season to lead Serie A. His contract was co-owned by Juventus, where he spent two unsuccessful seasons, but although he was a lock to leave Torino for a bigger club, he had no interest in returning to The Old Lady. Instead, he opted for Germany.
BVB desperately needed a striker to replace Lewandowski, who joined Bayern Munich on a free transfer this summer. They could have used Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang up top, but they see him as more of a winger so they hit the transfer market. First, they signed Adrian Ramos, who scored 16 goals for Hertha Berlin last season, and now they have added Immobile, who figures to step into the starting spot from Day 1.
Now Immobile has the World Cup with Italy to look forward to, then a new club, while Borussia Dortmund have their striker and Torino have a fat stack of cash waiting for them. Everybody wins.
