World Cup gear watch: Colombia 2-1 Côte d’Ivoire, Uruguay 2-1 England, Japan 0-0 Greece

Colombia's players in their fantastic yellow home kits had plenty of reason to dance as they sealed a Round of 16 spot with a 2-1 win against Côte d'Ivoire, who wore their subtly patterned green away kits. A quickfire pair of goals from James Rodriguez and Juan Quintero sealed the win but there would still be some nervy moments, especially after Gervinho's individual moment of brilliance to pull one back.

Uruguay made up for their opening match misstep thanks to a Luis Suarez double. Both sides turned up (not down because for what) in their home kits with Uruguay's sky blue, black, white, and gold stealing the show against the all-white England kits.

Japan's patient buildup was not rewarded with a goal against 10-man Greece as the two teams played out a hard-fought 0-0 draw. Japan showed up in their Samurai Blue home kits while Greece wore their very classy white primaries.

Colombia goalkeeper Faryd Mondragon is always a good player to go to for a great boot spot. The current Deportivo Cali and former Philadelphia Union goalkeeper has a penchant for the classic adidas World Cup boots that arae customized with his name, number, and team. Today, the tongues featured Colombia's flag but in the past, his boots have had the Philadelphia Union and Koln crests, among others.

Luis Suarez made his way back into the Uruguay side after missing the country's opening match due to injury. His return to the team was an impressive one as the Liverpool forward scored the game's opening goal and the match winner at the death. He did it all in a pair of adidas Battle Pack F50 adizero boots that worked really well with Uruguay's kits.
