Hope Solo was released on Monday after pleading not guilty to domestic violence charges in the wake of her arrest on Saturday. Solo was released on her own recognizance, despite prosecutors asking for $5,000 bail to be set. The judge did instruct Solo to refrain from drinking alcohol as a condition of her release.
Hope Solo pleads not guilty to domestic violence charges
The USWNT and Seattle Reign goalkeeper was in court on Monday, and pleaded not guilty before being released on her own recognizance.

Solo was arrested on Saturday after police were called to her home. According to the report, Solo appeared intoxicated, and police allege that she was the primary aggressor in a fight that involved her sister and 17-year-old nephew.
Her attorney maintains that the Seattle Reign and U.S. Women’s National Team goalkeeper was assaulted and sustained injuries during the fight.
Solo is due in court on Aug. 11 for a pretrial hearing, meaning this issue will likely stretch well beyond the end of the NWSL season. The Reign have offered no comment on the issue, and there is no sense if Solo’s status with the team will be affected by her legal troubles. Their next game is schedule for June 28, at home, against Sky Blue FC.
