Algeria and Russia both make a single change for their key meeting
Both Algeria and Russia have made a single change to their starting lineups ahead of their crunch match.
Algeria coach Vahid Halilhodžić has introduced Essaïd Bekalem instead of Madjid Bougherra at the centre of defence, though he's largely stuck with the more offensive formation that saw them thrash South Korea last time out.
Russia v. Algeria
Fabio Capello, meanwhile, has resisted the urge to make wholesale changes to his lineup, despite this game being a must-win for Russia. His sole change is up top, where where Maksim Kanunnikov is dropped to make way for Aleksandr Kerzhakov, despite playing pretty well against Belgium in their last match.
Algeria starting lineup (4-2-3-1): Raïs M'Bohli; Djamel Mesbah, Essaïd Belkalem, Rafik Halliche, Aïssa Mandi; Carl Medjani, Nabil Bentaleb; Abdelmoumene Djabou, Yacine Brahimi, Sofiane Feghouli; Islam Slimani.
Russia starting lineup (4-3-3): Igor Akinfeev; Dmitri Kombarov, Sergei Ignashevich, Aleksei Berezutskiy, Aleksei Kozlov; Viktor Fayzulin, Denis Glushakov, Oleg Shatov; Aleksandr Kerzhakov, Aleksandr Kokorin, Aleksandr Samedov.
