Can the neutral’s darlings of the last two World Cups upset the hosts?
Chile have managed a win over Spain and a place in the knockout stage over the defending champs so far in this tournament, but they take a step up in competition on Saturday. They've impressed so far, but can they avoid having their defensive deficiencies exposed by Brazil, the hosts and early favorites?
If Brazil's performances up until this point are any indication, we should be in for a highly competitive game. They only managed to beat Croatia thanks to some poor officiating, they couldn't get by Mexico and they were surprisingly challenged for a half by Cameroon, arguably the worst team at this tournament. Having easily handled the Spaniards and given the Netherlands an excellent game, Chile certainly won't fear Brazil.
Match Preview
Both teams have some fitness concerns, but they're minor and no stars are expected to miss out. Arturo Vidal should be fit after getting rested in Chile's last game, while Gary Medel is expected to play despite a muscle problem. The same goes for David Luiz, who should keep his place despite a minor back injury.
