Udinese have confirmed in an official statement that Andrea Stramaccioni is their new coach. Stramaccioni has signed a two-year deal at the Friuli, and will be unveiled in a press conference on Friday. He replaces veteran Francesco Guidolin, who recently retired after Udinese finished the Serie A season in 13th place.

Stramaccioni's only previous first-team coaching experience came in a short stint at Inter Milan a couple of seasons ago, with the Roman leading the nerazzurri to an underwhelming ninth-place finish before being sacked and replaced by Walter Mazzarri last summer.

However, that hasn’t deterred the zebrette from entrusting their club in the hands of the young coach, who will now have a second chance to prove he’s got what it takes to coach in Serie A. He’ll inherit a talented team, though with Udinese famously not averse to selling off their stars for big profits, he’ll have to manage their permanent upheaval to be successful.
