A panenka always seems like a good idea. Until it goes wrong.
Fabian Espindola with a lesson on how not to try a panenka
Fabian Espindola is not Andrea Pirlo.

Fabian Espindola is a lot of things, most of them good, but extraordinarily skilled is not one of them. Whenever he first thought, "you know what, I should try a panenka," a little voice in his head should have yelled back, "NO! BAD FABIAN!"
But it didn’t.
So Espindola tried a panenka, and in the 94th minute of a tied match at that. And we are grateful for it.
This is a thing of beauty and a gift to the world. Anyone who is not a D.C. United fan -- so the world population minus 18 -- thanks you, little voice in Espindola's head that went silent when we needed it to.
Panenka away.
